Big
weekend planned for Poteau
POTEAU—Dates
have been set for the 5th Annual Poteau Bluegrass Festival in
downtown Poteau on Dewey Street, presented by Poteau Main Street with the
assistance of Oklahoma Arts.
The dates are April 30 and May 1. There will be live music, arts and crafts,
food vendors, prize walk, activities for kids, rock wall and a karoke contest in
Pocket Park.
There will be free admission and no alcohol permitted.
Here is the lineup for the Bluegrass:
April 30 (6 to 10 p.m.)
6:30—Curtis and Friends
7:30—Cornerstone
8:30 Spring Street
May 1 (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
11—Felisha and Roy
12:30—Silver Streak
2:30—Sound of County
Also, on April 30 there will be a Cruise Night. On the 1st, there
will be a Classic Car and Truck Show sponsored by Cavanal Hot Rod Association
and Poteau businesses.
There is a $20 entry fee and you should sign in by 9 a.m. Goodie bags will be
given out to the first 75 entries along with dash plaques. There will be 25
classes judged with plaques to be awarded in all the divisions.
Plus, there is a Benefit Poker Run with a $15 entry fee with benefits going to
B.J. Smith. Riders should sign in at 9 a.m. with the ride starting at 10 a.m.
A bike show will be held at 1 p.m. with a $10 entry fee. Trophies will be
awarded to the winners.
