Branscum heading on Youth Tour

WHITESBORO--Whitesboro student Kelsey Markayla Branscum will be representing Kiamichi Electric Cooperative on Youth Tour 2010.

She won the all expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. with her essay titled "How Do Electric Cooperatives Benefit The Communities They Serve?"

Branscum, along with Jake Patton of Kiowa, will join with other students from across Oklahoma as they tour the nation's capitol visiting many historic and cultural sites. The Youth Tour delegates will meet with Oklahoma

Congressional leaders, take a riverboat cruise on the Potomac River, and tour the Smithsonian Museums, the U.S. Capitol Building, the Vietnam Memorial, and much more.

Youth Tour begins June 11th with a get acquainted banquet in Oklahoma City and runs through June 17th. Kelsey is the daughter of Mark and Kristi Branscum and the granddaughter of James and Nadine Shupert and Alvin and Claudiette Branscum. She will be a senior at Whitesboro High School in the fall.
