County teams advance, stay alive

Howe’s girls moved a step closer to a regional championship while the Howe boys, LeFlore girls and Bokoshe girls all stayed alive Thursday to play another game Friday.

The Lady Lions were in complete control in the winners’ bracket game against Rattan at EOSC, rolling to a 53-29 win.

Howe will play Sasakwa Saturday, also at EOSC, for the regional championship at 6:30 p.m.

Howe’s boys gritted out a 64-58 win over Wright City to stay alive. The Lions will play the Friday at 8 p.m.

LeFlore’s girls nipped Pittsburg, 49-47, to advance in the losers’ bracket. The Lady Savages were led by Misty Johnson’s 12 points, 12 steals, five rebounds, four blocks and three steals.

Lindsey Mote added 12 points, seven rebounds and six steals while Elisa Forrest had six points and 11 rebounds, Sarah Lloyd had six points, Jessica Patterson had five and Melinda Smith and Taylor O’Neal each had four points.

LeFlore plays Friday at 6:30 p.m.
