Glover,
Sullivan help Wolves edge Spiro
By CRAIG HALL
HEAVENER—Koda
Glover had an easy seventh inning to close out Heavener’s 3-2 win over Spiro
Thursday afternoon.
Glover and the Wolves didn’t have many easy innings in the win as they had to
work out of jams in several innings to get the victory.

The junior pitcher struck
out seven while allowing only five hits as Spiro pitcher Dakota Watson overcame
a rough start to also pitch an excellent game.
Heavener had a good start
against Watson in the first inning, but struggled in its last five innings.
Brice Sullivan gave the Wolves all the runs they would need with a bases-loaded
double to right center in the bottom of the first, scoring Austin Mead, Brandon
Kirkland and Koda Glover.
Sullivan also had another hit later in the game to account for two of the
Wolves’ three hits.
Spiro had several chances to score before breaking through in the top of the
sixth to narrow the Wolves’ lead to 3-2.
Tyler Didway led off the inning with a single. One out later, Justin Sharp had
another single before Joe Ross hit a double to plate two runs before Glover and
the Wolves escaped the jam.
Spiro also had chances earlier in the game with runners at second and third in
the first and third inning but could not score. The Bulldogs also had runners at
the corners in the fifth with no outs before the Wolves shut down the rally.
