James Billy Sr.

POTEAU—James Edward Billy Sr., 74, of Poteau, passed away Friday, June 4, 2010, in Tulsa. He was born July 11, 1935 in Poteau and was a construction worker.

Services are Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with the Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Interment is at Vaughn Cemetery in Gilmore. Arrangements are under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

Survivors are his wife, Patricia Billy of the home; three daughters, Myrtle Ann Billy of Oklahoma, Patsy Ann Hooper and Rebecca Lynn Billy, both of Panama; three sons, James Edward Billy Jr. and Daniel Allen Billy, both of Poteau, Albert Leon Billy of Panama; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 11 brothers and sisters; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Korea. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Albert and Rina Lodell (Griffith) Billy, two sisters and one brother.
