Jerelyn Corr
POTEAU—Jerelyn
Claxton Corr, 73, of Poteau, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010, in Poteau. She
was born Jan. 1, 1937 in Norman and was a retired teacher.
Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Poteau with the Rev.
Phil McGehee officiating. Burial is at Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are under
the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
Survivors are her husband of 52 years, Bert Corr of the home; daughter Cindy
Hall and husband Tim of Poteau; son Ed Corr and wife Debra of Lenwood, Kan.;
sister Carlene Hargis of Tucson; grandchildren Vincent, Corryn and Nico Hall,
Adam Engel, Thomas and Andrea Corr.
She was born and raised in Norman and graduated from Norman High School in 1954.
She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1958 with a degree in
elementary education and from Northeastern in 1980 with a M.Ed. in reading. She
was a member of First Baptist Church in Poteau.
Pallbearers will be members of Bert Corr’s Sunday School Class. Honorary
pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church.
