Stanley ‘Pop’ Branch

POTEAU—Stanley “Pop” Branch, 64, of Poteau, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010, in Fort Smith. He was a mechanist, a member of Broadway Church of Christ in Poteau and born July 29, 1945 in Stidham, Ok.

Services are Saturday at 1 p.m. at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with the Rev. Keith Williams and Rev. Jimmy D. Cook officiating. Interment is at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau. Services are under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Branch; granddaughter, Brittney Cox; his parents Henry and Mary Branch; brothers, Dewayne and Tim Branch; sisters Betty Miller and Pamela Branch; and his father-in-law, Fines Sturgeon.

Survivors are his wife of 45 years, Judy Sturgeon Branch of the home; two daughters and son-in-laws, Tammy Cox of Poteau, Melody and Johnny Wood of Poteau; a grandson, Cody Cox of Poteau; granddaughters Kyla Wood and Britleigh Wood, both of Poteau; a sister, Janet and John Rorex of Durant; brother Bob and Ranae Lane of Checotah; nephew Tim and Shaylee Branch of Edmond; mother-in-law Goldie Sturgeon of Poteau; and an aunt, Nadine Funburg of Checotah.

Pallbearers will be Cody Cox, Johnny Wood, Josh Rorex, Robert Randolph, Tyler Hemphill, Scotty White, Chris Howell and Jamie Delude. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan White, Tim Branch, Kafon Lane, Scotty Lane, Winston Lane, Daniel Lane, Skylar Lashley, Zack Hall & Zack Pritchett.
