Okarche ends Howe’s season

OKLAHOMA CITY—Okarche used two big runs in the second half to break open a tie game and advance in the Class A state playoffs with a 69-48 win over Howe Thursday night.

It was sweet revenge for Okarche, which had lost to Howe twice before in the semifinals in the years the Lady Lions won the state championship.

The game was tied at halftime, 26-26, as Megan Brown scored nine points but Okarche grabbed the lead early in the third quarter and led 44-36 going into the fourth quarter.

Howe cut the lead to seven in the fourth quarter before Okarche went on an 11-0 run to clinch the win. Okarche will play Seiling on Friday at noon in the semifinals.

Okarche improves to 22-7 with the win while Howe drops to 29-3.
