Panama Midgets advance to finals

Of the four county teams in the OK Kids state tournament, the Panama Midgets were the only team to win Thursday.

Panama now advances to the finals on Saturday. Panama advanced with a 10-8 win over Durant in nine innings.

The other three county teams were undefeated in the state tournament going into Thursday’s games. In Coach Pitch, the Shawnee Spikes edged the Spiro Dirt Dogs, 5-4.

Spiro’s Pee Wee team fell to Byng in six innings, 5-4, while Wister’s preps were downed by host Weatherford, 15-0.
