Poteau's Jarrett Lowrimore lays in a basket during the Radiers' 51-43 win over Spiro Thursday night.

While the final score was close, the Raiders held a comfortable lead for most of the game before Spiro had a run against Poteau’s subs to make the score respectable.

Poteau jumped out to a 19-10 lead at the end of the first quarter and put the game away in the third with a series of layups in the midst of a 12-4 run.

John Scott Sanders led the Raiders with 15 points while Kendrick Hardaway added 13. Nafese Carter led the Bulldogs with 15 points.

Poteau won two of the three games here Thursday evening as the sixth-grade Raiders won 36-34 while Spiro took the seventh-grade game, 43-35.

The sixth-grade Raiders also finished off a good season at 11-1 with the win over Spiro. The Raiders had a big lead before Spiro came back in the fourth quarter against Poteau’s reserves. Austin Archey led Poteau with 18 points and Dalton Smith added 15.

In the seventh-grade game, Jordan Key and Jason Collins each had nine points but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Bulldogs.
