Poteau blanks Hartshorne

POTEAU—Poteau evened its record at 1-1 Friday afternoon with a 4-0 win over Hartshorne at Town Creek Park.

Tyler Wilson (1-1) picked up the win for the Pirates, throwing five strong innings in relief of Garrett Klutts, who started and pitched the first two innings before reaching the 50-pitch mark.

Klutts had a big day at the plate, going 2-3. Poteau scored one run in the first, second, fifth and sixth inning to grab the win.

The linescore showed Hartshorne with no runs, four hits and two errors while Poteau had the four runs on five hits and only one error.

Poteau was originally scheduled to play at Latta today but the game was cancelled because of rain and Hartshorne also had an open date because of a cancellation.

The Pirates will be back in action Wednesday in the Wood Bat Festival in Poteau.
