Voters
select school board members
As long as the
preliminary results are certified, there will be no runoffs in LeFlore County
after the school elections Tuesday.
Schools selecting board members were Fanshawe, Panama, Whitesboro, Howe, Cameron
and Pocola.
There were 875 voters throughout the county. The numbers were only 4.54 percent
of registered voters, but the votes did not affect most of the larger
communities.
In Fanshawe, Lee Shipman got 53 votes to 14 for Erick Gunlock and 12 for Kevin
Wiley.
The Panama and Whitesboro races were tight ones. Tommy Caldwell had 84 votes to
Richard Townsend’s 83 votes. In the Whitesboro Office 5 race, Doug Camp had 84
votes to 83 for B.J. Barron.
Elvis Hall won the Office 5 seat in Howe by a 37-32 count over David Landeros.
Dustin Mankin took Office 5 race in Cameron with a 63-12 margin over Larry
McCormick.
In Pocola, Alan Alexander won the Office 5 race over Jeff Carter, 220-9 while
Michael Severe beat Donna Didier in the Office 3 race, 220-96.
