Whitesboro girls win at Battiest

BATTIEST--The Whitesboro Lady Bulldogs came away with two wins at Battiest Friday.

In game one Whitesboro defeated Battiest, 11-8. Velina Hinchee was solid offensively for the Lady Bulldogs, going 2-2 with an RBI and scoring three runs before going down with an ankle injury. Kelsey Branscum went 1-2, drove in two runs and scored a run.

Taylor Johnson went 2-4 and scored a run. Ashley Quinn and Katey Johnson each added a hit and an RBI. Whitney Ward was 1-2 with a run scored. Sassy Newell and Ashlyn McCurtain drove in a run a piece and both girls crossed the plate. Brooke Woodall scored twice and drove in a run and Ivory Detter added a hit and a run scored.

In the second game, Whitesboro took a 6-1 victory over Wright City. Branscum was 2-2 at the plate and scored a run. Ward was 1-2 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Katey Johnson went 1-2 and added two runs. McCurtain added a hit with an RBI and Taylor Johnson picked up an RBI as well as scoring a run. Quinn crossed the plate once to round out the scoring for the Lady Bulldogs.

Whitesboro will be in action again Monday night as the LeFlore County Tournament gets underway.
